About Richard House Children's Hospice
Richard House Children's Hospice provides vital respite and palliative care to over one hundred and fifty children and their families each year. The children who visit us come from east, southeast, north and central London, whilst others travel from Essex. They have life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses, which means that they are not expected to live until adulthood. Children and their families receive all care from us absolutely free of charge. We need to raise £1.8 million each year in voluntary donations, which is why your support is so very important to us.

£212 will give a child with a life-limiting or complex healthcare condition a rare treat of a swimming session in a specially adapted pool. £307 will allow a youngster to gain new skills, build their confidence and develop their creativity when producing their own movie during a series of Living Films activity sessions. £525 will provide a day?s care for a child at Richard House.

TO PROVIDE OUTREACH, RESPITE AND HOSPICE CARE FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS IN THE LONDON BOROUGHS OF TOWER HAMLETS, NEWHAM, HACKNEY, BARKING, DAGENHAM, WALTHAM FOREST, REDBRIDGE, ISLINGTON, CAMDEN, BARNET, HARINGEY AND ENFIELD OR EXTENDED AS THE BOARD OF TRUSTEE DIRECTORS DECIDE. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS MEMORANDUM "SPECIAL NEEDS" IS DEFINED AS THE NEEDS OF CHILDREN/YOUNG PEOPLE SUFFERING FROM ANY IMPAIRMENT OR DISABILITY HOWEVER CAUSED WHICH RESULTS IN THEIR REQUIRING A LEVEL OF PERSONAL CARE AND ATTENTION WHICH IS SUBSTANTIALLY HIGHER THAN THAT WHICH WOULD BE REASONABLY REQUIRED BY A CHILD/YOUNG PERSON OF A SIMILAR AGE WITHOUT SUCH IMPAIRMENT OR DISABILITY.
