About my fundraising

A group of 20 people are going to Malawi to help with projects chosen by local Malawians. In past years these have included renovating hospital beds, painting wards and classrooms, involvement with permaculture projects and with orphan groups. The teachers, nurses and doctor in the party are likely to be helping in schools and Health Centres.

We are trying to raise funds not only for tools and materials but to meet needs as we find them. For example, last year a residential school for the blind was found to have only one working braille machine. New ones are 400 pounds each.

We shall find community groups working with orphans or those with HIV/AIDS, teachers who lack basic resources. Their effectiveness can be transformed with a bit of help. Larger projects will be looked after by MACS after our return if we can raise the funds.
