About RECYKE Y'BIKE

Based in Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne, a dedicated team of volunteers and bike mechanics have been refurbishing donated bikes since 2006 and increasingly delivering training in bicycle maintenance and safe and confident cycling. The charity benefits disadvantaged local people by providing a source of affordable and reliable bicycles and a place where some can develop skills and capabilities in a friendly low-stress environment. In addition RYB regularly donates bicycles to charities and projects further afield including African countries, Romania and Afghanistan where they benefit disadvantaged children and adults.

Funds raised may be used to ...

support delivery of training sessions at free or concessionary rates: help cover transport costs for sending bikes to Africa and elsewhere: provide skills training for regular volunteers: promote cycling and recycling
