Phil's Iceland Sponsored Bike Ride

Cycling Route 1 which is a road that runs right the way around Iceland
About 900 miles from start to finish
Riding solo, unsupported and self sufficient ( carrying everything I need camping, cooking and any equipment needed) Camping on route
After cycling solo from Lands End to John O'groats and really enjoying the experience, I started looking for another cycle touring challenge.
I'd heard Iceland had a road called Route 1, that was similar in length to the UK and ran around most of the country. I did my research to see if this would be a possibility as my next touring location and decided that although it could be a tough route I would like to cycle it.
My aim is to cycle 900 miles within 18 days.
I will be cycling Route 1 solo and self sufficient with no pre-booked accommodation. This means carrying everything I need on my bike to camp, plus cooking equipment, etc. By being self su...
