Help Build a Heritage Railway in Norfolk

Event dates: 15th March 2009 – 29th November 2012

Pete Curtis is raising money for The Mid Norfolk Railway Preservation Trust

My story

The rate of progress in restoring and upgrading the Mid-Norfolk Railway has been rapid over the last few years, and we would like it to continue that way. Current projects are aimed at improving the railway's overall infrastructure, which includes track and signalling work. In particular, we are working on building our first signal box, which will control the yard at Dereham; and we are busy restoring the line north of Dereham to operational condition. We have restored Dereham Station to its former glory, and installed run-round loops at Dereham and Wymondham. Future plans include the building of a passing loop at Thuxton, restoration of the stable block and building of a loco shed at Dereham as well as the provision of further signal boxes and a brand new station at Wymondham.
