About Perth and Kinross Association of Voluntary Service
Perth and Kinross Association of Voluntary Service (PKAVS) is a pioneering charity that has been commended by the Scottish Parliament and described as doing “remarkable” work. We run 8 different projects that help thousands of people.
Our day clubs help elderly and disabled people who live at home and we also lend free wheelchairs and scooters for people with mobility problems in Perth City Centre.
Our Carers’ Centre provide respite care, support and advise for carers and our Young Carers’ Project helps children as young as 7 yrs old, who care for a disabled or seriously ill parent or sibling. Two of our other projects help people recover from mental illness, providing support and skills training in our café, public gardens and joinery. At Christmas, we give friendship parcels and gifts to disadvantaged children and elderly people bringing some Christmas goodwill.
