About my fundraising
Arrived on time at Heathrow from San Francisco at 07:30 Saturday morning and whisked by Helen across for a 09:30 start at Overton Hill. Aim was to reach Streatley for overnight stay and finally arrived at 19:00. The main challenge was dehydration (26C) and hills (apparently our ancestors though it appropriate to walk along the top of hills so they could see the enemy - even if the hills have valleys between they consistently navigated a route up and down!). The second day started at 9:00 and in similar fashion (but 28C) and with the addition of one smashed bike and two flat tyres we completed at the top of Ivinghoe Beacon at 20:00, 93 miles in all. Muscles are tight, parts of me still numb (thankfully) but huge satisfaction in completing the challenge and our contribution to Lifelites. Significant thanks to our support team of Ruth, Helen, Sue, Ben and Carl, the Lifelites team and to all of you who have sponsored me.
