I know most of you will think the most exercise I get is taking a cork out of a bottle and running to the corner shop to get some cigs but I have been motivated to run a half marathon (yes 13.1 miles!) for a charity that is very close to my heart and was founded by my uncle 35 years ago. I've already started my training by ditching the fags and reduced my alcohol intake too...well a little less than before! I am embracing it whole heartedly, even if it takes me 5 hours to make it to the finish line! The charity CHAOS provides camping holidays for less fortunate East End children who otherwise would not have the opportunity of a holiday or escaping urban life. It aims to give them the chance of experiencing the simple pleasures which most of us take for granted such as visits to the beach, sporting activities and the opportunity, at least temporarily, to eat 3 hearty meals a day. To be able to run two weeks of camps and take away around 50 children they face the hefty task of raising almost £15,000 each year so any sponsorship is very gratefully received.
