While volunteering with Purple Field Productions as director of their latest film in Rwanda and Uganda, I've been doing a bit of running, and as a new year's resolution, an incentive to keep going, and an excuse to go and visit a cousin in Spain who I haven't seen for almost 14 years, I decided to train towards my first half marathon, in Segovia, Spain, on March 25th. It didn't take long for producer Elspeth to suggest I ran on behalf of PFP, which I'm more than happy to do (the more reasons not to back out, the better....), as I'm a great believer in the work they do, the power of the moving image, and the fantastic experience they offer to young(ish), ambitious and adventurous filmmakers. So please help me surpass this modest target, and contribute towards the next worthwhile PFP production. (nb all monies raised go to PFP, my airfare and race entry are coming out of my own pocket)

IMPORTANT UPDATE As I said to Elspeth at the time, "If I get sponsored for this you can be sure a film job will come along and interfere", and so it has. Due to being hired at the last minute for camera work on a 9 week film here in Prague, beginning the day after the race, and being unable to make alternative return travel arrangements that would get me back from Spain in time, I am forced to extend my event by 6 days, and instead of running the Segovia Half Marathon, to run the Prague Half Marathon 6 days later. Don't worry, it is exactly the same distance, and will hurt my feet in exactly the same way. Apologies to all my sponsors for this change. I hope you understand and find this change of venue/date acceptable.
