Steve Miller is raising money for Mercia MS Therapy Centre
24.04.12 3hrs 35mins 55secs
Although my Garmin had 54secs, but shouldn?t grumble over one second.Even though I had to start with the horses , rhinos and bananas I still managed to get off to a comfortable pace and kept it fairly consistent throughout. I did find it particularly tricky hurdling all the drinks bottles and avoiding the banana skins that were the lucozade gels , however I did manage to climb that wall rather than hit it !
The support from the crowds was amazing and awe-inspiring and I would certainly recommend the race.
02.04.12 , Less than three weeks now , another 32 miles clocked up last week , including 15 yesterday and touch wood still injury free ! Tapering down now to ensure I am as fresh as possible ahead of the day. Thanks again to all the donations , I believe with pledges I am over £1600 and counting , which is fantastic. I am now targeting £2000!
26.03.12 Getting closer less than four weeks now ! managed 18 miles yesterday in quite warm conditions, let's hope the 22nd April is not as warm!
19.03.12 Thanks again for all the donations , managed my longest run yesterday 20miles, those living in Kenilworth may have seen me a few times in various locations, with various degrees of pain on my face depending on how far I had gone.
Thanks to Stuart for upping the pace in the middle 8 miles!!
27.02.12 - Brilliant effort , thanks again for all the donations, its certainly giving me the incentive to keep training hard.143 miles completed in first 5 weeks and I have just completed my longest run yet 15 miles!
09.02.12 - Thanks very much for all the donations so far , this is really inspirational.
On the 22nd April 2012 in London I will be joining 30,000 other brave souls in competing in the greatest Marathon in the world, why you may ask..
partly because I always wanted to; and also because I have been given a fantastic opportunity to support a worthy local cause the MerciaMS Therapy Centre.
They are an independent local charity, which provides therapies and support for MS sufferers and those close to them. Although MS is as yet incurable, much can be done to improve the quality of life of MS sufferers and to help them to help themselves through therapies such as: physiotherapy, counselling, hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO).
In addition they also provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy for children with cerebral palsy and autism.
I only agreed to do this last week and have only 12 weeks to train. I'll will try and download the training schedule and also keep this fundraising page updated with progress.
So I would really appreciate if you could support my training by sponsoring me and more importantly those who will benefit from the monies raised.
