About my fundraising
In 3 weeks time (20th May), I will be running the BUPA Manchester 10k for the first time.
Anyone who remembers me skiving off the 1500m at school, or my 'jogs' round the park at uni will know that I am definitely NOT a natural runner! Running 10k will be a massive challenge for me.
I have decided to do the run in aid of Tarporley Hospital League of Friends, a small charity based in the village I grew up in. The hospital specialises in the rehabilitation of the elderly, intermediate care and supporting terminally ill and palliative patients and depends, to a large extend, on charitable donations and fundraising.
I have a personal connection to the hospital as my Nana was looked after there before she died. My mum, who has recently retired, also volunteers at the hospital a few days a week. It is a fantastic cause and I hope my generous friends and family members will help me to raise my target of £150.
