Over the past few years my sister, Sally, has been working with a charity in Uganda called Hands for Hope. From her first hand experience she has witnessed the desperate need for the people in the slums of Namuwongo. As a charity, Hands for Hope (H4H) works directly within the slum assisting the thousands of family to lift themselves out of poverty. H4H works to help the families through various programs including school sponsorship, small loans, tailoring program and adult literacy. One of their primary areas of help is a nursery which over 100 children attend and are given the incredible opportunity to have a safe environment to learn, play and enjoy their childhood. They receive education, medical needs and food. I am raising money to help fund the salary for a local head teacher to come and work with H4H to oversee the running of the nursery. His job will not solely be over the nursery but also monitoring the progression of the afternoon program. This is a time where the classrooms are open to other children who are yet to gain sponsorship to have a chance to learn several times a week. The money you donate will go directly to helping continue the amazing work this charity continues to provide. The lives of these children, and their families are dramatically changed and gives hope where there was none.

VMM, a UK Registered Charity, supports Uganda Hands for Hope's work in numerous ways, one of which is acting as the UK charity to receive funds on our behalf and enabling us to receive Gift Aid from supporters donations whenever it is possible to do so. This support is certainly making a massive difference to work we are able to achieve.
