Not content to just support Mummy and Grandma in their Coast to Coast challenge Lennie has decided to set her own challenge. For her inaugural outing as a member of Team HuGuM she is going to cycle the Bracknell Half Marathon (13 miles) route.

No easy task for a seven year-old but she's determined (and if all else fails we can probably motivate her with pizza delivery for tea!).

She is cycling for the Neros Foundation. The Neros Foundation is a small charity that aspires to make a big difference to the lives of people living in hardship on the island of Flores in Indonesia. Their current project is a huge step forward, and it will have a profound effect on the ability of villagers to access basic medical care. We may joke about hospital food, but can you imagine travelling up to 6 hours by truck to get to hospital and then not getting any food because you don't have relatives nearby who can bring it to you? No wonder villagers only seek medical help as a last resort, and sadly by then it is often too late. We have already purchased a plot of land at a key crossroads in the middle of the island and in the next 18-24 months we will work with local people to build a clinic. The project will be managed in Indonesia by one of the trustees Marcell Marung, and a firm of architects are giving their time for free to design the building. We estimate it will cost approximately £30,000 to complete the clinic which will then be contracted out to a local doctor who will deliver basic services in the heart of the community. In time we hope this will grow into a GP style service, giving people for miles around access to preventative medicine and health education, vaccinations etc.
