Lee Wolfenden is raising money for England Amputee Football Association

My story

This year I have been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Cup in Mexico in November.

Once again we have to raise our own funds to get to Mexico and compete for our country, the target is £2000 per player.

I have been a GB international for 20 years after losing my leg to cancer at the age of 15. I have played in numerous World Cups and European Championships and have over 100 caps.

I am very proud to have been selected as GB player rep for the last 3 years using my experience to provide support to the squad.

Amputee football isn't widely known in this country but we are fast growing into one of the strongest contenders at international level. After the previous World Cup in 2012 held in Russia, we are currently ranked 5th in the world out of the 30 competing countries. Since then we have won the Paddy Power Cup and the Poland Invitational Cup for the 2nd consecutive year, which we also hope to defend this coming September. Very recently we beat Ireland in an International friendly in front of our home crowd, helping boost the squads confidence and momentum.

We now strongly believe we stand a good chance of lifting the World Cup for Great Britain this year.

Please help us get there and compete for our country, which we always do with great honour and pride.

Any donations are greatly appreciated.
