About my fundraising
Ladies and Gents, Friends and Family,
The Avon and Somerset Search and Rescue organisation, staffed by volunteers, has been busy saving lives since 1975. They will attempt rescue from any terrain, any structure at any time (they're on call 24/7, 365 days a year!). They cover 1855 square miles, this is the whole of the Avon and Somerset area however they can also be mobilised to support and provide added skilled technical knowledge to other teams nationally. This organisation is totally funded by charitable donations and run (as well as staffed) by unpaid volunteers. They currently have 80 members volunteering! 50 of which are active 24/7!
SO the four of us - Alex, Jess, Laura and Rachel - are going to climb the three highest peaks in the UK in 24 hours. We start at 4pm on Saturday 2nd June and aim to finish at 4pm on Sunday 3rd June.
