Jez and Keeley Marathon Challenge

Event date: 20th October 2013

Jez Turner is raising money for Laila Milly's Wish

My story

During 2013 we shall be taking part in the Blackpool Marathon on April 7th and then the inaugural Yorkshire marathon on October 20th.

We are raising funds for the Laila Milly Foundation which is a charity created by Keeley's running friend Maya McCormack after her daughter Laila Milly was born in March 2010 with a rare neurological condition called Aicardi Syndrome. There are only between 300-500 girls worldwide with this condition.

Sadly Laila Milly passed away on 2nd March 2011 just one day before her first birthday. She was a brave little girl who inspired her parents to set up the charity and come up with plans to open a day nursery for children with severe and complex health needs.

The day centre will help severely disabled, life threatened and life limited young children aged 0-5 years in the Wakefield and Five Towns area so that the quality of their lives may be enriched.

As most of you know, Keeley and I are classified running junkies so we thought 2 marathons this year would be a sufficient enough challenge to get the fundraising going so please dig deep and give what you can for such a worthwhile local charity.

As usual, all donations are sincerely and gratefully received.

Many thanks.

Jez and Keeley
