About my fundraising
In November 2008 my friends daughter, Emily Haigh passed away having had spastic quadriplegia, a form of cerebral palsy. She was 8. During Emilys short life she loved going to Brooklands School, a school for children with severe learning difficulties.
Brooklands try to send the children on trips every year. The trips are especially expensive and are as much for the children to enjoy as they are respite for the parents of children that need constant care and attention.
Without funding, some parents can not afford to send their children on the trips and this year, with your help, I will be raising money by running the Experian Nottingham Half Marathon for the children to go away on an adventure trip to take part in archery, canoeing and abseiling amongst other things whilst the parents have a break from the day to day care of their children.
Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated.
