About Henshaws Society for Blind People
Henshaws is a specialist charity providing expert support, advice and training to anyone affected by sight loss. We also work with people with other disabilities and because sight loss and disability affects family, friends and colleagues, we work them too. Our services run in the North of England, with centres and communities in Harrogate, Knaresborough, Manchester, Merseyside and Newcastle

Every £7 buys a Henshawsat Home weekly or fornightly volunteer visit for a visually impaired person. Every £10 buys toys for our specialist children's services. Every £25 buys a long graphite cane, essential for getting around if you're visually impaired. Every £30 buys a level 2 Braille Class which will allow someone with to read books and newspapers.

THE PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF ACCOMMODATION FOR BLIND AND PARTIALLY SIGHTED PERSONS IN NEED OF RESIDENTIAL CARE. 2. THE PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF A HANDICAP CENTRE OR CENTRES FOR BLIND AND PARTIALLY SIGHTED PERSONS. 3. THE PROVISION OF EDUCATION FOR BLIND AND PARTIALLY SIGHTED PERSONS. 4. THE PROVISION OF EMPLOYMENT FOR BLIND AND PARTIALLY SIGHTED PERSONS. 5. THE PROVISION OF VOCATIONAL TRAINING FOR BLIND AND PARTIALLY SIGHTED PERSONS. 6. THE PROVISION OF HOLIDAY ACCOMMODATION FOR BLIND AND PARTIALLY SIGHTED PERSONS. 7. THE PROVISION OF ACCOMMODATION FOR THE SIGHTED SPOUSE OR OTHER RELATIVE OR COMPANION OF ANY BLIND OR PARTIALLY PERSON RESIDING IN SUCH ACCOMMODATION AS AFORSAID WHERE THE INTERESTS OF SUCH BLIND OR PARTIALLY SIGHTED PERSON SO REQUIRE. 8.
