About FRIENDS OF INTI WARA YASSI
The Inti Wara Yassi Community is a Bolivian NGO made up of volunteers from throughout the world, and is currently the only refuge in Bolivia for mistreated wild animals.
Our aim is to rehabilitate the animals we rescue, when rehabilitation is not possible we work hard to ensure each individual animal has the utmost freedom possible.
Our philosophy is that no wild animal should be abused or kept as a pet.

Friends of Inti Wara Yassi was set up in 2008 to support the Bolivian Inti Wara Yassi Community. Established by past volunteers FOIWY aims to support Inti Wara Yassi's projects in Bolivia by raising vital funds and awareness of the issues surrounding their work. Our Aim is to help them advance the education of the public, in particularly young Bolivians from disadvantaged backgrounds, in environmental and ecological issues. And to support their work to relieve the suffering of wild animals in need of care and attention at their wild animal refuges in Bolivia where they rescue, and where possible rehabilitate and reintroduce those animals into the wild.

TO SUPPORT THE PRINCIPLES OF THE BOLIVIAN INTI WARA YASSI COMMUNITY, THAT IS TO SAY: 1 TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, YOUNG BOLIVIAN PEOPLE FROM DISADVANTAGED BACKGROUNDS, IN ENVIRONMENTAL AND ECOLOGICAL ISSUES. 2 FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC, TO RELIEVE THE SUFFERING OF WILD ANIMALS IN NEED OF CAE AND ATTENTION, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, BY THE RUNNING AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE INTI WARA YASSI COMMUNITY'S WILD ANIMAL REFUGES IN BOLIVIA, WHERE ANIMALS AE RESCUED AND, WHERE POSSIBLE, REHABILITATED AND REINTRODUCED INTO THE WILD.
