While on Holiday in Scotland in preparation for a day at the athletics at Hampden Park for the Commonwealth Games, Nick, Julie and Louis are going to follow a 9mile trail for Children in the developing world. They face daily challenges that impact upon their education, health and security, which threatens their ability to determine their own future and escape the poverty trap.

One of the greatest barriers to breaking the cycle of poverty is a lack of education. Often just getting to school can be a huge challenge for millions of children. In some countries a walk in each direction of several hours is not uncommon. This is just too much for many children, particularly for those with a disability, those suffering from malnutrition or illness, or for those who live in conflict zones.

This July, RESULTS has launched a brand new fundraising campaign called Footsteps for Futures. The campaign challenges participants to walk to school or work every day for five days or set a personal walking challenge and to raise funds and awareness of our work on global education in the process. We are walking in solidarity with all children who are denied a quality education simply because they cannot message the long journey to school.
