About my fundraising
As most of you will know, I have been accepted onto a placement with the charity Development in Action (DiA)to go to India for five months. DiA is a youth and volunteer led charity, working with local grassroots organisations.
While I'm there, I will be placed with one local NGO (to be confirmed at the moment), and will spend my five months working with this organisation. This could include working with women's empowerment groups, undertaking research projects, teaching English, and raising awareness about HIV and AIDs.
As part of being accepted onto the placement, I am required to fundraise £1600. This money goes straight to the organisation, and pays for: volunteer recruitment, volunteer training, volunteer support, running costs and admin.
In order to raise this money I will be doing a range of things, including a 10k run in July. Any sponsorship would be very greatly received! I am also selling raffle tickets on behalf on DiA which goes towards my fundraising...
