Fifteen Foundation

The Fifteen Foundation was set up by Jamie Oliver in 2002 to offer disadvantaged young people the opportunity to turn their lives around. We do this through our apprenticeship programme where we train young people to become professional chefs. At the time of their application, all apprentices are out of work and out of education; many have experienced some sort of abuse, some have been in and out of prison. Through a unique tailored welfare programme we support them to overcome these issues. After their graduation, most of our young people are employed by some of the worlds finest restaurants.

But this once-in-a-lifetime investment cannot be done on the cheap: it costs on average £20,000 to train just one apprentice. This is a combination of college, in-house training, individual welfare support and sourcing trips to top producers. These are just some of the elements that make our apprenticeship model so successful.
