Rabies is a deadly and infectious disease, which is quickly spread between the stray dogs and to humans. The sheer quantity of dogs causes road accidents; noise and can cause a great deal of fear amongst adults and children alike.

In an attempt to solve this problem, the stray dogs are brutally shot, beaten to death or poisoned. The problem CAN NOT be solved this way as the place that one dog leaves behind, is quickly filled by another stray dog.

Pro Paws is a charity registered in UK, for the benefit of public health and prevention of cruelty to dogs in Armenia.

Our aim is to promote humane behaviour toward stray and unwanted dogs in Armenia by providing education and awareness to citizens, lobbying for new legislation and by providing help to employ a more effective and humane way to solve this problem by way of sterilisation of stray dogs.

We have backing of international organisations, with the approval and agreement of the Mayor of Armenia; we can start the process of catching, neutering and releasing the stray dogs. This plan been proved to be the only effective long-term method of lowering the birth rate of the stray dogs.

We finance this work solely through donations and voluntary help. The is a costly operation, the process will need to be repeated every three months depending on the number of stray dogs.
