About my fundraising
Whilst in Bangladesh we became very aware of the crushing poverty experienced by so many. Since returning to work in England we have wondered what we can do to support work amongst some of the poorest people on the planet. I have decided to ride from Lhasa in Tibet to Kathmandu, Nepal - via Everest base camp, -in a sense riding to the highest place for those who are regarded as the lowest by most of society. Money raised will go to help support a school for girls who would otherwise be collecting rubbish on the street, working long hours in unsafe conditions in garment factories producing clothes for the west, or married off at an early age.
