About my fundraising

The "Dining Room" (El Comedor) is an IMC community-based nutrition programme in Fusa (Fusagasugá), about 2 hours from Bogotá, Colombia. The programme helps children at risk through poverty, neglect or abuse.

- Children who eat a nutritious lunch do better in class and are much more likely to finish high school and go on to succeed in life.

- Children who don't eat properly tend not to do so well. Some drop out of school, spending more and more time on the street with the inevitable consequences.

- The Comedor also provides moral support and comfort, somewhere to do homework and a safety net for emergency needs.

- IMC is a small charity with a big impact. The food cost of nutritional meals for a child at high risk is only £10/month or £2.50/week* - less than a cup of coffee on the high street in the UK!
