About my fundraising
Most of you will be aware that I gave up smoking in January last year. Unfortunately, stopping smoking came with a serious side effect. A "massive" gain in weight so I took up running in an effort to keep my weight down. Some of you will also know that over the past few years, quite a few of my friends and family have been affected by the big "C". With this in mind I decided to do a couple of runs for charity raising over £400 for Macmillan in 2011. Carrying on with the theme, the first of my two charity runs this year will be the Chester half marathon on Sunday 13th May for Northern Lights. Check them out on the Web and you will see that they have been sending seriously ill children aged between 6 to 11 to Lapland at Christmas since 1987. Come on guys, please dig deep for a really deserving local charity!!!!!!! Many Thanks, Derek.
