Like many - if not all - of you reading this, my life has been touched (such a gentle word!)by cancer.

In 2005 Nick, my partner, was diagnosed with tonsil cancer. After double surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy a Lifeline Resources 'Time to Retune' break (www.lifeline-resources.org) helped us to look to the future. I am now a trustee of the charity.

Last year, my beloved Dad died of prostate cancer. Dad, Mum, my sister and I were helped massively by North Devon Hospice.

Dad inspired in me a love of sport and so I have entered the inaugural Brighton marathon to raise funds for these two incredibly important cancer charities.

Please sponsor me and make the early mornings and training in wind, rain, snow and ice (and sometimes sunshine, of course!) worthwhile by supporting the continuing work of these charities which, from personal experience, truly make a positive difference to people's lives.
