About my fundraising
On Sunday 22nd January I will be attempting to complete the Helsby Half-marathon.
Having never ran further than the bus stop this time last year, it is something I am looking forward to with a mixture of fear, anxiety, and blind panic. I will be running on behalf of two causes which are close to my heart.
The first is Sands stillbirth & neonatal death charity.
Sands is an organisation which offers support when babies have died during pregnancy or after birth.
It is a national charity and was established by bereaved parents in 1981.
The death of a baby is a devastating experience. The effects of grief can be overwhelming and parents, their families and friends can be left feeling dazed, disorientated, isolated and exhausted.
They have 3 core aims which are to:
Support anyone affected by the death of a baby;
