About my fundraising
In August 2010 a 'Cycle-Summit' team of nine amateur adventurers will set off from the North of France on a 600-mile cycle over seven days. Heading to Chamonix, they will then attempt an alpine ascent of Mont Blanc; Western Europe's highest peak, standing at 4,820 metres.
Prior to this adventure many of the team hadn't even cycled to work, let alone approached 100 miles in a day! The mountaineering will also be new to many of the team and with the added challenge that high altitude adds to the challenge; this adventure is not for the faint-hearted! But this adventure will go to show that a combination of training, motivation and teamwork mean that 'normal' people can achieve extraordinary things.
