About Compassion in World Farming
Compassion in World Farming campaigns tirelessly to abolish systems of farming that promote suffering for farm animals. For a relatively small organisation we have had many successes including a ban on the battery cage, due to come into force 2012. We also work to promote global understanding of the welfare and needs of farm animals and the impact of technological and 'factory' farming on animal welfare the environment and human well being.

THE OBJECTS FOR WHICH THE CHARITY IS ESTABLISHED SHALL BE: (A) TO PREVENT AND ALLEVIATE CRUELTY TO FARM AND OTHER ANIMALS; AND (B) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC CONCERNING THE CARE AND TREATMENT OF ANIMALS AND TO PROMOTE AND ADVANCE PUBLIC EDUCATION IN ANIMAL SENTIENCE, ETHOLOGY, THE IMPLICATIONS OF FARMING PRACTICES ON HUMAN HEALTH AND ECOLOGY, INCLUDING THE STUDY OF MAN'S ACTIVITIES AND THE RELATIONSHIP OF THOSE ACTIVITIES TO THE BIOSPHERE OF THE EARTH.
