About The Castle of Mey
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother bought the castle in 1952 after the death of Her Husband King George VI. She renovated it and visited regularly until Her death in 2002. A few years before Her death She set up a trust and gifted the castle and appurtenances to the Trust to be used to support charitable causes and enhance the area.
