Bonny Downs Community Association

Bonny Downs Community Association is based in East Ham in Newham and was established by local church members and residents to renovate a derelict community centre and use it as a base for a variety of social action and inclusion programmes. The center opened in 2001 and has been running and hosting various activities including: Toddler and baby groups , elders activities, exercise and fitness clubs and activities, youth groups, dance school, café and catering services, training and seminar events, parties and church meetings.

Funding from various sources as well as earned income has enabled us to grow and develop the work and has taken us from a community centre focused organization to a more broadly based community organization.

Our work now includes children and families activities, sports and fitness programme, fit and healthy elders activities, sport and community center management and catering services. We are working with approximately 4000 people each week.
