About The Big Issue in the North Trust

The people The Big Issue in the North Trust works with often have a range of complex difficulties. Sometimes they have had a relationship breakdown and have lost their home. Some people use drugs and alcohol. Others aren?t able to get a job or anywhere permanent to live or are migrants.

We see our job as helping people who aren?t in touch with statutory services to get the services they need ? whether that?s permanent accommodation, access to drug or alcohol treatment, GPs, English language courses and other training.

The money we raise goes towards providing support to vendors who sell The Big Issue in the North magazine. That support might be through one to one support sessions, a breakfast club, English classes, IT supprt, or art and gardening projects for example.

1)THE RELIEF OF POVERTY WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE NEEDS OF HOMELESS VENDORS OF THE PUBLICATION "THE BIG ISSUE" IN THE NORTH OF ENGLAND AND IN PARTICULAR,BUT WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING,BY MEANS OF THE PROMOTION,ADVANCEMENT AND PROVISION OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR EMPLOYMENT; 2)THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATIONS IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE IN GENERAL;AND 3)THE PROMOTION OF ANY OTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC
