About BERKSHIRE AUTISTIC SOCIETY
Berkshire Autistic Society was set up in 1990 by parents of children with autism, autism-related problems and challenging behaviours. We now have over 500 members including individuals, families and professionals. The main aims of the Society are: To provide a comprehensive advice, information and sign-posting service for parents, professionals and adults with autistic spectrum disorders. To offer support to parents and carers via monthly meetings and social/leisure events for families. To offer support for adults with autistic spectrum disorders and their families. To lobby to improve education, respite care, leisure activities and other services across Berkshire. To raise awareness of autism across Berkshire.

Funds raised may be used to provide support via our helpline, monthly meetings and speaker meetings. Also to provide social and leisure activities for children and adults with autism. To enable staff and volunteers to raise awareness of autism and related issues and to lobby for improved services.
