About Ataxia UK

Ataxia is a degenerative neurological condition that affects walking, speech, and movement. Over time ataxia usually gets worse, until people are dependent on others for all their care. It can affect anyone, from babies to adults. There is currently no cure for ataxia but Ataxia UK is searching for one every day. We are the leading national charity for people with ataxia, their families and carers, and we also provide a range of support services free of charge.
