About my fundraising
Greek Animal Rescue is launching an urgent appeal to raise funds for Rex's veterinary treatment, a dog left abandoned in Karditsa when his uncaring owners sold their petrol station, and the new owners didn't want him.
They gave the small Karditsa society 10 days to pick him up or they would 'get rid of him' and had the Society known about his horrendous injury, they would have picked him up immediately, but with 120 plus dogs already at their shelter, they were unable to collect for nine days.
Rex had a severe injury to his foot in the caused by a grass seed that penetrated the skin and then 'moved' deeper, causing infection, attracting flies and maggots did the rest. He had clearly been in pain and suffering for some time. Rex was picked up on the 1st August and immediately taken to a vet where he has been hospitalised.
The vet hopes to save the paw and thus his leg, but it will be a long job, requiring a least 2 operations. The treatment, operations, hospitalis...
