As some of you may know we are going to Uganda in October as volunteers for a charity called Hands for Hope. This will be from the 17th-24th October (week before half term). After hearing about the opportunity we decided that this would be a pretty amazing thing for someone of our age to do and decided to go ahead with it. It will consist of us travelling to Uganda and completing a week?s volunteering work out there, helping with the charities various projects. This will include helping in the children's nursery that has been set up, taking the children on day trips and painting new buildings, all of which will help the disadvantaged community. Whilst in Uganda we will stay in a house with other volunteers and although we will be the youngest and probably most inexperienced there, we feel this shouldn't stop us. As it?s a voluntary trip, none of the costs are covered. For us to be able to go, we need around £2000 to cover flights, accommodation and basic living during our stay. We wou... more
