About my fundraising
As some of you may be aware, I am going to be running the Tewkesbury Half Marathon on the 9th of May in the aid of Cotswold Hospital Radio.
The station serves Gloucester Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital providing light entertainment for patients. The station broadcasts 24/7 and every night put on a request show for patients playing what they want in Patients Postbag. This is probably the most important aspect of the station, where our volunteers meet patients getting any requests they would like, from classical music to rock, from Cliff Richard to The Kinks.
I volunteer at the station every week and know what amazing work goes on behind the scenes to bring a top quality and much loved service to patients at the hospitals.
The Tewkesbury Half Marathon will represent a significant challenge for myself and I'll be breaking out the running shoes, the headband, and my running ability (which is not too dissimilar to a Victorian wardrobe) for the day.
