About Akamba Aid Fund
Akamba Aid Fund works in Rural Eastern Kenya to help allieviate poverty among families. To help them access the basic essentials of life that we in the comparatively affluent west have enjoyed for so long. Our area of work is the Mwingi District which covers almost 1000 sq. kms. We give support to projects in four main fields ~ FOOD ~ CLEAN WATER ~ AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE ~ EDUCATION. We provide emergency rations in times of famine. Support bright children who are witheld from school because of poverty, and help communities provide new school buildings. We offer subsidised affordable healthcare to poor families, providing clinics and clinical support where necessary. We also help communities with the costs of water & sanitation projects. All administration expenses are covered by the trustees or specific donations, thereby freeing ALL donated funds to help the poor Kenyan people.

Every £100 raised enables AAF to: Educate a teenager at secondary school for 6 months. Pay for free healthcare for 3 families for 1 year. Pay for two cataract operations on a blind person. Buy School uniform for 20 primary school children. Pay for mosquito nets for 20 families Pay for 1/4 of the cost of a pump for a well. Buy enough seed for planting by ten families.
