1) TO PROTECT AND RELIEVE YOUNG PERSONS SUFFERING FROM PHYSICAL CONDITIONS WHICH ARE LIFE-THREATENING OR LIFE-LIMITING AND/OR TERMINAL (HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS AFFECTED YOUNG PERSONS): BY A. PROMOTING THE PROVISION OF SUITABLE MEDICAL AND NURSING ASSISTANCE, AND SUPPORT SERVICES AND RELATED AMENITIES FOR AFFECTED YOUNG PERSONS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS: AND B. REPRESENTING THE INTERESTS OF AFFECTED YOUNG PERSONS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, OTHER GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS AND AGENCIES AND OTHER STATUTORY AUTHORITIES. 2. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF MEDICAL, NURSING AND OTHER RELATED PROFESSIONALS, VOLUNTARY AND STATUTORY ORGANISATIONS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN THE CARE OF SUCH AFFECTED PERSONS, THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS BY MEANS OF A NATIONAL INFORMATION SERVICE, TRAINING COURSES, SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES, AND ANY OTHER APPROPRIATE EDUCATIVE ACTIVITIES.
