ONE BIKE, ONE MAN, LOTS OF LYCRA, 24 HOURS

Event date: 17th July 2011

Jim Webster is raising money for Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team Ashburton

My story

On the 17th July at 4am I will get on my bicycle at Torbay Hospital and start cycling up country. The aim is to see how far north I can get over the following 24 hours. Would love to get north of Manchester 260 miles from Torquay but all will depend on how the middle aged body holds out.

The Major goal is to raise as much money as possible for the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team.

20/07/2011 well the ride is over and I managed to pedal 353.5 miles in the alloted 24 hours and finished just over the top of Shap Pass in the Lake District. For those interested the average speed was 16.6mph, a max of 44mph and a total of over 21hours pedaling, lots of time was spent sat at traffic lights in city centres. I am a little sore now.

Huge thanks to all those who have sponsored me so generously, it is very appreciated and is essential for the ongoing functioning of the rescue team and the service that we provide.

Cheers Jim

P.S. If you have not yet sponsored me and would like to its not to late.

Many thanks Jim
